AUTO POWER MANAGEMENT / SERVO CAMBER BAR

Our cutting-edge Servo system redefines parawing flight dynamics by functioning as a precision-engineered power steering mechanism. It ensures consistent, neutral bar forces across all flight regimes—from high to low angles of attack. This innovation delivers unparalleled control, making every flight smoother, safer, and more responsive, no matter the conditions.

Takeoff Phase (High Angle of Attack / High Lift Mode): When slowing down the parawing during takeoff or low-end conditions, the bar is pulled back. This action causes the B-lines to slide on a special slider, reducing the power to maintain this setting. When the bar is pulled back, the mixer progressively shortens the brake lines, curving the airfoil’s camber more to generate additional lift helping you to pump that start more efficiently.

Neutral Position (Best L/D): This configuration optimizes the lift-to-drag ratio, ensuring efficient and stable flight performance. With its automatic adaptation to the desired angle of attack, the P.T. optimizes the lift-to-drag ratio, delivering efficient and stable flight. This innovative design stands out for offering a highly performant yet remarkably simple and intuitive ride.

Cruising or Upwind Phase (Low Angle of Attack / Speed Mode): When accelerating or achieving the best speed or upwind angle, more pressure is applied to the front of the bar, causing the B-lines to slide back and compensate for front pressure. In this phase, the mixer fully releases the brake lines, making the profile camber more aerodynamically stable, reducing lift and minimizing the risk of overpowering.

Engaging the Downwind Option

The P.T. wing is a fully functional Ram-Air wing, renowned for its superior performance. It features specially designed nozzles that facilitate deflation when opting for a parawingless downwind run. While it packs slightly larger, this was not an issue during our prototype testing, even for longer runs. In more technical areas with shorter runs, the P.T. wing allows you to fly the waves while holding the lines. It remains ready for instant reinflation whenever you decide to move or head upwind again.

Effective Drainage System

We understand the critical need for a wing to perform at its best immediately after being retrieved from the water. That’s why we’ve equipped the P.T. Wing with an innovative drainage system, strategically positioned along the entire trailing edge. This design ensures that a significant portion of water escapes the wing as soon as it is lifted, minimizing downtime and maximizing performance. A specially engineered mesh works in tandem with air permeability, utilizing water tension to retain optimal aerodynamic properties.
This meticulously designed feature gives you the confidence to handle any situation, knowing your wing is ready to deliver peak performance with quick and efficient water release.

internal construction

While Triple Seven boasts extensive expertise in the development of Ram-Air wings, the P.T. wing has been innovatively crafted with meticulous attention to every detail of its internal construction. By incorporating diagonal supports and tension straps, we successfully reduced the number of lines, ensuring a super clean profile across all flying conditions. This also increases the overall performance L/D ratio, resulting in impressive upwind angles and enhanced towing power when needed.

MATERIALS

With the P.T. wing, we carefully selected the finest materials available. The lightweight canopy is essential, crafted from fabric that retains its shape and durability over an extended period. Our color-coded lines are designed for optimal performance and strength, enhanced by a water-repellent coating to ensure reliability in various conditions. This combination guarantees a superior performance with minimal maintenance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I buy it, and what can I expect from P.T. Parawing?
The P.T. is the first Ram-Air para wing on the market. With its performance-oriented canopy, it offers exceptional freeride capabilities. The SC bar (Servo Chamber bar), one of the P.T.’s technological innovations, adapts the airfoil to any riding condition, providing a smooth, stable ride as the auto-stable airfoil compensates for wind disturbances with excellent flow. Imagine the high-speed capabilities of a kite foil in a package that fits in the palm of your hand. The main advantage over single-skin options is the superior comfort and upwind performance. Whether riding on the water, ground, snow, or ice, you’ll benefit from the same advanced technologies, giving you a broader range of terrains to explore. The P.T. is the right para wing for you if you’re seeking a versatile product that excels across a wide range of riding conditions.
How can I choose the right size?
Choosing the right size for you depends on many different aspects. We need to account for the gear being used for the Parawing. With classical wingfoil gear, we need to choose one size bigger, while when we use the downwind board and foil, we can opt for a smaller size. The calculation is done for a rider of 80 kg with average skill in take-off pumping technique (With good pumping technique, we can lower the low end up to 4 kt):

3m (28+ kt classic wing foil setup) (24+ kt for downwind gear)
4.2 m (21+ kt classic wing foil setup) (17+ kt for downwind gear)
5.8 m (18+ kt classic wing foil setup) (13+ kt for downwind gear)
8 m (12+ kt classic wing foil setup) (10+ kt for downwind gear)

The P.T., with its servo system, can tolerate high winds, so don’t be afraid that you will be overpowered. Optimising for a bigger size will reflect in easier take-offs, yet you will be able to run stronger winds as well.

What gear is recommended for the board and foil?
To get the most out of the P.T., we recommend using a mid-length downwind board and high-aspect foils. We also rode the P.T. with a shorter board and smaller, faster foils, but we needed slightly higher wind power to take off. While taking off was slightly more technical, the riding was significantly faster. We can compare these sensations with the changes in wing foiling that come with the different foils and boards.
Should I use the harness with the P.T. para wing?
Yes, we strongly recommend using the harness connection with the P.T. para wing. When you have a product that truly excels at going upwind, it’s important to recognize that the forces on the rider will increase as well. The harness connection significantly reduces stress on your arms, and combined with the super-stable canopy, it ensures smooth transitions, even in overpowered conditions. This combination allows for a more comfortable and controlled ride, especially when handling the increased power and demands of upwind riding. Additionally, when connected with the harness, thanks to the innovative SC bar technology, you can ride the P.T. with just one hand/fingers, adding to the ease and convenience of handling the wing in various conditions.
How does the P.T. reinflate after being submerged?
Occasionally, we all find ourselves in the water, making it crucial to retrieve our gear easily for a stress-free experience. If the P.T. falls into the water while inflated, it will remain afloat for an extended period. With single-skin para wings, retrieving the wing from the water can be a lengthy process. In contrast, the Ram-Air P.T. canopy stays inflated and floats on the water’s surface, enabling easy reinflation and lift using the bar.

In the unlikely event that the P.T. becomes fully submerged, an innovative technical solution comes into play. A specially designed drainage mesh runs along the entire trailing edge and tips, allowing water to drain instantly. By lifting the P.T. from the water by its leading edge, water is pushed through this mesh, and gravity swiftly does the rest. In just seconds, the wing is ready for reinflation, and you can continue your ride effortlessly.

How does the P.T. deflate for downwind use?
The P.T. is a Ram-air wing, which results in a slightly higher volume of material. However, even when fully deflated, the compact package ensures a comfortable downwind ride. Deflation time is minimized thanks to special nozzles integrated into the canopy, though it still takes slightly longer than with a single-skin wing. In our tests, we consistently managed to pack the wing during longer runs. For shorter, more technical runs, we keep the P.T. in our hands, holding it by the leading edge plastic reinforcement. That way, the P.T. is ready for the quick transformation to the upwind ride. This is where the P.T. truly excels, delivering outstanding performance that enhances the joy of riding both downwind and upwind.
Can P.T. be used as an upwind or retrieval device for DW SUP foiling?
Yes, one of the main ideas and the starting point of the P.T. project was based on this concept. As DW SUP foilers, we often carried out DW SUP foil runs with heavy waterproof backpacks filled with deflated wings and pumps. Now, with PT’s compact packing and impressive upwind performance, it’s much easier. You can carry two sizes in a backpack, allowing for flexibility if wind conditions change during your DW run.
Is P.T. good for free ride, racing or even jumping?
The P.T. with its advanced airfoil is designed for high speeds, which single-skin wings cannot achieve. If you’re seeking a powerful cruiser, the P.T. excels in that role. Additionally, if you’re aiming for extended airtime, the airfoil will undoubtedly help you jump higher than ever.
I am a beginner; what conditions do I need to start learning?
We advise that your environment features side-shore winds with minimal wave action. In such conditions, a large, slow foil, possibly paired with a fast or slim board, is ideal. The wind conditions should be on the upper end of the para wing size range. As with all foiling water sports, stronger winds make for easier takeoff. Additionally, you can practice with the P.T. through ground handling, which will help build your muscle memory for making corrections when you’re on the water. This practice on land is a great way to familiarize yourself with the wing’s dynamics and prepare for smoother handling during your rides.
Do you ship worldwide?
Yes, we offer international shipping with different courier services. To calculate the cost we invite you to put the product through the ordering process where it will calculate the costs of shipping for you.
