Triple Seven rider Jon McCabe continues an incredible run of form, taking another major victory by winning the parawing division at the Molokai Holokai M2M crossing aboard the Triple Seven P.T. Skin 7.
Following his recent success at the Paddle Imua Maliko race, Jon once again trusted the Triple Seven P.T. Skin 7, proving that the wing is equally at home in challenging open-ocean downwind crossings.
Molokai Holokai M2M – One of Hawaii’s Premier Ocean Crossings
The Molokai Holokai M2M (Maui to Molokai) is one of Hawaii’s most demanding open-ocean events, bringing together the world’s best parawing, wing foil, SUP foil, and downwind athletes. Covering the legendary Pailolo Channel, competitors face unpredictable trade winds, ocean swell, strong currents, and rapidly changing conditions that reward both skill and reliable equipment.
This year’s forecast left competitors guessing right until the start.
“With the forecast looking 50/50 on being strong and whitecaps coming and going at the start, we really didn’t know what to expect for wind. Coming off the recent win at Maui’s Imua Maliko race, I decided to stick with the PT Skin 7 again and roll the dice.”
When the Trades Arrived
Midway through the crossing, the Hawaiian trade winds arrived in full force, transforming the race into a true test of commitment and precision.
“The trades filled in full on halfway into the race and turned the race into a next level adrenaline pumping mission. Falling wasn’t an option, so I stayed aggressive, focused on the bumps, and committed to my line.”
Jon credited the P.T. Skin 7 for giving him the confidence to stay on the gas throughout the crossing.
“The drift, response, and stability of the wing along with epic bumps made for some amazing times. Could not have asked for better conditions to send a hot lap.”

“It was so awesome battling head-to-head with many of the world’s top SUP, Wing, and Parawing foilers, and I was stoked to show what’s possible.”
Events like the M2M crossing continue to showcase the rapid evolution of parawing, where equipment, technique, and endurance come together over long open-water distances.
Racing for Captain Big Cat
For Jon, this victory carried significance far beyond the finish line.
He dedicated the race to his late uncle, Bill, affectionately known as Captain Big Cat, whose passion for watersports helped shape Jon’s own journey on the water.
“On a personal note, this run meant a lot to me. I recently lost my Uncle Bill (aka Big Cat), and the whole crossing I felt like he was with me, watching over me, keeping me from falling in 40 knots, and giving me the confidence to keep pushing.”
Reflecting on the experience, Jon described the incredible focus required to complete such a demanding crossing.
“The clean run and hyper focus required came with some insane flow state moments, and I am proud to take home the gold medal which I dedicate to Captain Big Cat for teaching me water skiing in West Virginia on his boat. Can’t wait for the next inter-island rocket ship mission.”

Winning back-to-back Hawaiian events demonstrates both Jon’s outstanding riding and the capabilities of the Triple Seven P.T. Skin 7 in real-world ocean conditions.
